Forging mental toughness from failure

This story is about my willingness to never give up on my dream. I was in college from 2009-2014. My dream was to be a collegiate football player and I achieved that. Early into my college career, I started to struggle with not knowing what I was meant to be. I secretly had some built up anxiety and depression caused by relationship failures and insecure feelings that were forged over time growing up. I decided I needed to get away and the only thing I knew about was the Army. I completed Army Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA in 2012. A year and a half later my anxiety got so bad from outside forces in my life that I was discharged from the Army. Since that time I took it upon myself to get help in various ways and no longer have anxiety. I have forged the never quit attitute and since then I got a job at a fourtune 500 company (Deere and Company). Although I achieved this goal my goal is truly to get back into the military as an elite member of the special operations community and have been relentlessly pursuing it for that past 3.5 years. I am in the best shape of my life, I have a wife, and a good job but I know I was meant to be a warrior for this nation and am willing to die trying to get back in to the community I have dreamed about since I was a child.

Thank you and God bless.
